Lordaeron

Daphne woke to cold pervading her bones and lifted her lids on absolute darkness. Even deeper, the silence. Her fingers twitched with reanimation. Weak, she rolled to crawl in the dark until butting against a step.

Climbing the slabs taxed her heart, arrhythmically tapping. Rising, she grasped an iron ring and pushed a door on whining hinges.

Cringing from the moon, Daphne shielded her eyes. Spilling between brittle-boned fingers, light betrayed her flesh, plagued and tattered. Daphne wailed and withered to her knees.

Her twice-charged heart fluttered feebly. Henry…? Or were those vows annulled by death do us part?
