The Sadist
A technician unclasped the occupied capsule from the repository, grasped the rear handle, and pushed the transparent pod on lev-lift through the facility. Exam room three. The tech locked the unit onto its base and retreated from the established stink.
Alone, #17 stared out and tried to raise her hand, but the drugs…
A man entered, hard soles tapping, interrupting her feeble attempt at escape. #17 probed his mind…dark figures, a blade…dirty street. Unexpected from a man wearing a pristine laboratory coat.
Gazing in at her helpless form, he caressed the dome with his fingertips, and #17 cried.

It was eerie and scary. But I didnt quite get this bit “dark figures, a blade…dirty street. Unexpected from a man wearing a pristine laboratory coat.” Hope you dont mind my asking?

Hi, Dahlia. That part you ask about is the impression #17 gets from reading the man’s mind. My hope was to portray his dark background/intentions while repeating the image of the photo prompt. In the last line, “Gazing in…,” I imagined #17 continuing to probe his mind and, perhaps, seeing what he plans to do to her, which is why she cries. Thanks for coming by to comment. Much appreciated!

Not pleasant at all. I’d say ‘nice one’ but it wouldn’t be appropriate!
